A Letter to the Editor of the Sun-Sentinel
"We are writing to express our appreciation and gratitude to the Riverside Hotel on Las Olas Boulevard. We live in New York and for the past year we have been planning our wedding for Sunday, September 5, 2004 in Cooper City. Although we planned the party for over 150 guests, one guest we did not expect was Frances. Frances brought the rain and wind, then the closing of airports and ultimately the postponement of our wedding.
"Luckily, most of our immediate family from New York arrived before Frances did and many of us checked into the Riverside Hotel. The 'family' at the Riverside was amazing. Even with just a few staff members and low food supplies, the hotel ran as if there was no hurricane blustering beyond the shuttered windows. Within 24 hours, the Riverside staff led by Alison Ulmer and Rod Mason helped us plan a beautiful wedding ceremony in their lobby. They found a bouquet, hors d'oevres and Champagne for our celebration. The Riverside is a place we will never forget. It is a place we will return to again and again. It is a place that feels like home. South Florida is lucky to have such a treasure as the Riverside Hotel".

"All the Riverside staff members with whom we came in contact were wonderful, cooperative, helpful, friendly and accommodating. I include the desk clerks, the bellmen, the housekeeping staff and the valet parking staff. Our rooms in the executive section were just lovely and my mother was so pleased to see a walk in shower in a bathroom that was larger than the total accommodations we've had in other hotels. The banquet rooms for our tea on July 24th and our brunch on July 25th were set up beautifully and the serving staff was right on top of everything and very attentive to my mother, who was so appreciative. In all, I have to say that the Riverside met all my expectations and then some."
