A new series of paintings from summer in Newfoundland.

All of the landscapes from this series were done on location off the coast of St. Johns, Newfoundland, on a small island called Bell Island. Bell Island as well as Newfoundland itself I have found to be the best kept secret in the universe. It is a paradise or Shangri-la and aptly called the Big Rock. The shoreline and landscape during the summer is abundant with lush colored foliage. Complimented by some of the most beautiful rock and cliff formations to be experienced. This is all cushioned by the gentle demeanor of the Newfoundland people, a people more private than Americans with their hustling, bustling and competitive clamoring for the corporate ladder way of life. There is a peace there and a beauty I find in my sourroundings and within myself. The presence of a higher power is felt with every movement I make.
